HB Home Service Team<\/a>\u00a0is an\u00a0employee-owned company<\/strong>, having become an ESOP in 2010. We believe our two biggest assets are our employee\/owners and our customers. As such, we want our customers to know who we are, from top to bottom. Our new \u201cHot Spot\u201d column will provide insight into the folks behind the superior service and technical expertise behind HB Home Service Team.<\/p>\n

This month, we\u2019re featuring Andy Henry, HB Home Service Team\u2019s Chief Financial Officer.<\/p>\n

Andy is a finalist\u00a0in Central Penn Business Journal\u2019s\u00a0CFO of the Year Award<\/em>\u00a0category. Andy has been with HB Home Service Team for more than 30 years, starting in 1983. He has been an integral part of HB Home Service Team\u2019s growth, including guiding the company through the process of becoming an ESOP. Under Andy\u2019s financial guidance, HB Home Service Team has averaged 10% growth annually.<\/p>\n

Like all HB Home Service Team employees, Andy is valued for more than his contributions to the company\u2019s success. Who is Andy Henry? Here\u2019s a quick look.<\/p>\n

What are your hobbies outside of work?<\/em><\/h4>\n

In my free time I pursue archery hunting, hiking, and bicycling. Archery hunting is my passion because of the tremendous peace of mind it provides along with the shear enjoyment of being outdoors. The three best adjectives to describe me are: perceptive, analytical, giving. I think at least two of these traits are engaged when I am hunting.<\/p>\n

Where did your career in finance begin?<\/em><\/h4>\n

It started when I was Treasurer and Comptroller for the Student Government Association at Penn State. I managed the finances of 20+ student organizations. I never considered a career out of finance.<\/p>\n

What is the most meaningful part of your job?<\/em><\/h4>\n

Being engaged in analyzing monthly financial results with department heads of our six profit centers, finding and reconciling financial differences, analyzing financial data, and strategizing for the future.<\/p>\n

What is the biggest misconception of people who work in finance?<\/em><\/h4>\n

That we\u2019re just bean counters who sit behind a desk focused on nothing but dollars and cents. Good financial people understand the intricacies and complexities of the business world and of people.\u00a0Working at HB Home Service Team<\/a>\u00a0helps cultivate the strategic side of my brain. At HB Home Service Team\u2019s I\u2019m surrounded by a positive, motivated group of people.<\/p>\n

If you could do it all over again, what would you change?<\/em><\/h4>\n
